What is HVAC?

HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. HVAC refers to the system of equipment used to regulate the temperature, humidity, and air quality inside buildings or vehicles. This includes devices such as air conditioners, heaters, ventilators, and thermostats. These systems work together to maintain comfortable and healthy indoor environments.
HVAC systems are regulated with building codes and can vary in different states or zones. ESSCONS experience and knowledge of local & International code is an advantage when navigating different building codes to create top-notch design standards.

Where is HVAC used?

HVAC systems are commonly used in residential, commercial, and industrial projects to provide efficient and reliable heating and cooling throughout the year. ESSCONS MEP is experienced in creating expert drawings for split systems, packaged rooftop units, ductless systems, central chilled water and hot water systems, dust collection systems, special exhaust systems to name a few.

3 Reasons why is HVAC important?

  • Ventilation is a main component of most HVAC systems and helps maintain the flow of air within a structure. Without an adequate HVAC system, low air quality can affect the health and safety of those inside the building including respiratory problems, headaches, and other health issues. HVAC can supply fresh air and remove stale or polluted air from indoor spaces.
  • Ventilation can also control the amount of humidity, or the amount of moisture in indoor spaces, which can prevent the spread of mold and bacteria that can cause respiratory issues and worsen allergies.Ventilation can help dilute and remove airborne pathogens that cause illnesses. These can include bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Adequate ventilation can help reduce the risk of illness transmission in spaces such as classrooms, offices, and healthcare facilities.
  • Overall good ventilation is essential for maintaining health and safe indoor environments. It ensures that people can breathe clean air, stay comfortable, avoid exposure to harmful contaminants, and keep products in optimal condition.
